It is so easy to look at other people’s lives and say they have the best life. If you are not on an authentic path, it is easy to start to question your own life and go down the rabbit hole as to why I don’t have all this happiness in my life. The victim statements like “It is not fair”; “those people are so lucky!”, “Nothing ever happens for me”. These thoughts and comments start to emerge and derail your own happiness.

Personally, I have had people judge my life and say it must be so amazing to be so happy all the time. You are so lucky, life has been so easy for you. You have been given all the opportunities and that is why you are successful. But the reality is, I have had many mountains to climb to get to my happiness. As you go through adversity you learn how to find pleasure in simplicity. You do not look for others to make you happy. You go on your own journey day by day. Your perspective on life has a direct impact on the life you will live. Happiness will inspire further happiness. You have a direct connection to the type of life you will live. If you are always consumed by other people’s happiness and not invested on your own joys, then I would say you can blame yourself for the limited outcome.

You need to take a long hard look at yourself and see what vibes you are putting out there. Do you sit there and complain all the time and say life is so hard? Well, if that is what you believe, then that is what you will receive.

You drive your own happiness.

Some quick tips to put you on your own path of happiness

1. Be positive

Try to look at life through a positive lens, when you do you will immediately see a difference in the results. YOU are the one that owns that perspective. I know that it takes effort to do this at times. But just do it!!

2. Open mindset

Having an open mindset can make all the difference. Be open to life not going to plan and learning something new. That means putting yourself out there to meet and engage with new people. Give life a chance by saying YES to opportunities. Be open to your authentic self.

3. Gratitude

I am happy with my life and it is the simple joys that make it so great. Having an appreciation in your life for all the great things that you have. Take the time daily to count all the things you are grateful for in your life. Is it your family, food, pets — whatever it is, make sure you take joy in your reflection. I actually do this exercise every night in my head before I go to sleep. It is awesome because it creates an opportunity to reflect on your day.

Give these tips a try for 2 weeks and then see the immediate difference it will make in your own happiness. If you are looking for more happiness tips be sure to follow and subscribe to my email list.
